Dear Alpharetta Families and Prospective Families,
A hallmark of a successful school is effective collaboration and connection between the school and the home. It takes the Alpharetta community as a whole to produce students who will be competitive in our global society. As we join in this partnership, I encourage and welcome your support of our efforts and your suggestions for the future. We are fortunate to have well established partnerships with our families through the PTA, the AES foundation, and the Local School Advisory Committee. I encourage your participation in any or all of these organizations.
As a school we are committed to the continuous achievement of each and every student. While our mission here at AES is not to get students ready for college or the workplace, I believe we are charged with teaching students with the requisite skills so they will be successful at middle school, high school, and beyond. Each teacher will determine your child’s current academic level and take them to at least one full year’s worth of academic growth.
Our school motto is Ready-Respectful-Responsible. Students are reminded of this each day on the announcements and we have talked about what it means for students to be ready, respectful, and responsible in the classroom, the hallways, or out at recess. I expect all students to be seated and ready to learn by 7:45 a.m. Additionally, we are a school of great diversity. This diversity gives us the character and charm that makes us the community we are. All students are celebrated and respected. Finally, in getting students ready for their future we are instilling in them a sense of responsibility for themselves, their school, and the community around them.
Again, welcome to a great year at Alpharetta Elementary. I look forward to working with you all.
Sincerely,
Adam Maroney, Principal
