On Student Release Days, students do not report to school. Please set your calendars accordingly. List of Student Release Days

Brookview Elementary School is one of the ten schools in the Achievement Zone.  The Achievement Zone is a geographic area that makes up the Banneker High School attendance boundary.  Launched in 2015, the Achievement Zone is designed to accelerate the school district's efforts to improve academic outcomes for the students who attend schools within the Zone.  To boost student achievement during the
2018-2019 school year, the Achievement Zone is exploring changes to the school calendar and school day.

Dear Brookview Families, Community Members, and Visitors to the BES Website

It is with great pleasure that I am welcoming all viewers to our web page for the 2018-19 school year. Brookview Elementary School is a great place for young people to thrive.  We are committed to taking each student one step further in the journey of academic excellence!

BES is one of the best kept secrets in East Point.  Our commitment is to provide a positive experience for all who enter our doors.  We are a customer service based school and are committed to being service workers and leaders within our community. My mission as principal is to always do what's best for children! My belief is that all students can and will learn, and it is our job to support all of their needs.  We strive to create an environment where each and every student is given the attention necessary to achieve his/her individual success. Our school must be a place where students want to learn and are inspired.   My goal is to invest time in getting to know everyone in the Brookview school community – the students, parents, families, teachers, staff, and community members. I strongly believe that parent and community partnerships are an essential piece of our children's learning experience. With this in mind, we welcome volunteerism, collaboration, and partnership opportunities.  All are welcome at Brookview!

My charge to all parents is to stay involved and BE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS in your child's learning.  This can be accomplished by staying in contact with your child's teacher, assisting your child with his/her homework and projects, participating in school sponsored events, joining and participating in the PTA or the School Governance Council, volunteering, chaperoning field trips, supporting fundraising activities, and much more.  It is my expectation that Brookview has effective two-way communication with all stakeholders to ensure the success of every child's education and well-being.

This year's theme is "We are Great on Purpose:   Greatness Isn't accidental…It's Intentional".   With this in mind,  there will be countless events and activities planned for all of our students, families, and community stakeholders to collaborate and engage in.   I want to encourage you to stay informed and get connected to the great things happening at Brookview Elementary School!  Please make sure that you follow us on Twitter (@BesPandaWallace) and join our calling post for updates on the latest news and events.

Again, I am thrilled to be Brookview Elementary's Principal and I am looking forward to embarking on an exciting new school year.

Your principal and partner,

Jovita G. Wallace
