STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY

The faculty and staff of Campbell Elementary School believe that the purpose of education is to provide each student with the skills necessary to function in a rapidly changing society. The school serves students at crucial stages of development and provides channels through which human potential can best be realized. In helping to develop the total child, the school's philosophy emphasizes the importance of each child's social, emotional, intellectual, physical and aesthetic development.

While recognizing and nurturing each child's uniqueness and personal worth, growth towards achieving each one's potential is encouraged and fostered. A variety of techniques, services and experiences are used to attain these goals.

A setting is structured so each student can participate and integrate the skills necessary for self-organization and self-discipline. Each student is challenged to use these skills creatively, to think critically, to accept personal responsibility and to become an effective decision maker.

The faculty and staff of Campbell Elementary School believe that the educational program is strengthened and improved through cooperation with the home, school and community.
