I would like to welcome you to my class and let you know how excited I am to meet each and every one of your children! I was born and raised in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. I attended the University of Kentucky and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Psychology—GO CATS! After graduation, I moved to Atlanta where I obtained my Early Childhood Certification from Brenau University and also completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. This will be my nineteenth year of teaching and I have taught in various Montessori, private, and public schools. On a personal note, I have been married to my best friend Gerald for ten years and we just celebrated our son Chandler's sixth birthday in June. Chandler keeps me really busy!! He loves sports so I find myself at the football field, basketball court, and baseball field many days. During my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, watching sports, working puzzles, shopping and traveling. My goal for the school year is to create an environment in which the children are excited about learning. I strongly believe that together we can make this an amazing year where the possibilities are endless! I want to keep the lines of communication open, so please feel free to call or send a note/email at anytime.

I am honored to be a first grade teacher at Cogburn Woods. I have worked for the Fulton County School System since 1996. Prior to that, I worked at MCI Telecommunications in the Washington DC area before relocating with my family to Atlanta in 1994. I have three adult children who all graduated from Milton High School. My two daughters, Bethany and Talie graduated from the University of Georgia and my son Sam graduated from Georgia Tech. My husband and I are enjoying our time as empty nesters with two spoiled dogs.
