Video Greeting

Dear College Park Elementary School Community,

My name is Maisha Otway Ed.D and I am honored to serve as the principal of College Park Elementary.  When I was made aware of the opportunity to transfer to College Park Elementary School, I was honored to be able to join your team as the principal. I am enthusiastic and privileged to begin my next educational experience working side by side with each of you. I am impressed with the present talent, passion and commitment demonstrated to education. Your track record in raising funds and supports within the school, as well as being the community hub, is remarkable!

I appreciate the relationship building process we will embark on over the next few months and look forward to utilizing all of the talents and experiences, as we transition into the 2018-2019 school year.

In my former school, I found holding myself accountable to support talent, implement shared decision making, while fostering innovation has resulted in creating a positive school environment that impacts student achievement.   I am committed to developing our relationship while maintaining an open-door policy where conversations are geared towards helping us meet the needs of our learners.

During my first 90 days as principal, I will dedicate time to learn through listening to the community members, school partners, school leaders, staff and students. For school staff, there will be an opportunity in early July to begin my listening tour with small group "Get to Know You" sessions. During the week of July 9-13 all staff will be able to sign up for a session. I will share a little about me and then listen to all you wish to share about College Park. Be on the lookout for more information during the upcoming weeks.
