Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS)

Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) replaces the CRCT, and Writing Assessments in grades 3 and 5. GMAS results may be used in promotion and retention decisions at grades 3 (reading), 5 (reading and mathematics). The test will consist of the following types of answer options:

  • Selected-Response all content areas[aka, multiple-choice],evidence based selected response in ELA
  • Constructed-Response ELA and mathematics Constructed response is a general term for assessment items that require the student to generate a response as opposed to selecting a response.
  • Extended-Response ELA and mathematics Extended-response items require more elaborate answers and explanations of reasoning. They allow for multiple correct answers and/or varying methods of arriving at the correct answer. Writing prompts and performance tasks are examples of extended-response items.

Building Our Future 2017
Fulton County Schools Strategic Plan

This strategic plan is the roadmap for how Fulton County Schools aims to improve student achievement over the next five years. Three goals serve as the district's measure for long-term student success:
90% of Fulton students will graduate
on time.
85% of Fulton's seniors will be elgibile
for admission to a University System
of Georgia college or university.
100% of Fulton's graduates will be
work-ready certified.

This plan will only work when all parts of the community, staff, and stakeholders are aligned. Our hope from this presentation is that you will walk away understanding our key commitment to children and how we plan to get there.

Student Safety Is A Priority!

Many thanks to our community for working with us to ensure the safe transportation to and from school for all of our students. Remember: The SAFEST bus stops are those with PARENTAL SUPERVISION. Parents, please make it a good practice for you or a trusted adult to walk with your child to the bus stop every morning and to be at the bus stop to walk with your child home every afternoon. Your child's safety must not be compromised!
