Curriculum Support Teacher, Melanie Moore,Ed.S
Ms. Moore is a native of Atlanta and graduated from Georgia Southern University with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as her Master’s degree in of Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. For over 25 years, she has served as an elementary classroom teacher, gifted program teacher and instructional coach. After joining Fulton County Schools in 1997, she also obtained her gifted endorsement and Educational Specialist degree in Administration/ Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
Each day, Melanie assists teachers in implementing the Fulton County Curriculum by providing teachers with the necessary materials, resources and strategies to maximize the effectiveness of their instruction in the classroom. She organizes and assists with training teachers how to utilize assessment data to target instruction to meet the needs of each student based on their understanding of the Georgia Standards of Excellence. In addition, she coordinates student placement and assists in testing to determine the most appropriate content level that will support each student’s continuous achievement.
Although she takes tremendous pride in being an educator, her greatest accomplishment has been raising her three sons. As an empty nester, she enjoys visiting her boys and traveling.
