We wanted to make you all aware of the policies regarding lunch visitors at Creek View. All visitors in the building must provide the front desk with a photo ID when entering the school. In order to eat lunch with your student, you do not need to complete the volunteer training, but you will need your ID. Thank you for your cooperation with our new visitor and volunteer procedures.
School Governance Council
Creek View Elementary School will be electing new representatives to serve on our inaugural School Governance Council (SGC). There are three parent/guardian positions and two teacher positions open for election this fall. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal on the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held November 12th- 18th. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit to the district office by October 15th! Candidate declaration forms can be submitted electronically or by mail to the district office. Hard copies of the candidate declaration forms are located in the front office.
To declare your candidacy for a position on the School Governance Council or to learn more information about Charter System and SGCs, please access the SGC webpage.
Online Textbook Links
Here is a link to access online textbooks for your child. Please be aware that we follow the Common Core Curriculum in reading, language arts and math and use these textbooks only as a supplement to our instruction. In reading/language arts, we use the Journeys program, Fountas and Pinnell guided reading program, and literacy stations to help support the Common Core Standards.
In Social Studies and Science, we use the Georgia Performance Standards and the textbooks are used as a supplement to our instruction as well.
Here are some websites that have more information about our curriculum:

Many volunteer opportunities are available in our school. Parents are encouraged to help at Creek View Elementary School. Fulton County policy requires all prospective volunteers register using the new 2014 - 2015 automated volunteer process.
Volunteers may now register on the district webpage www.fultonschool.org. Click on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers". The new portal will allow for a one-time registration as volunteers may select more than one school during the process. Individual campus registration is no longer required as volunteers will now be approved centrally.
New Visitor Check In Procedure
Starting in May, Creek View ES will begin a new procedure for visitors and others to enter our building during school hours. The new feature is a “buzz-in” door lock system at the main entrance of our school. This feature will keep the main doors locked at all times except 7:10 a.m. – 7:40 a.m. on school days. Outside of that time, all guests will need to “buzz-in.” The new door security system includes a box located outside of the main entrance equipped with a door bell and a camera. Staff members working in the front office will receive an alert when a guest arrives and rings the bell. For security reasons, the office staff may only permit one guest in at a time. The office staff will be able to see and hear the guest, and once the guest indicates the nature of the visit, the office staff member will “buzz” the guest into the school.
