What's happening at Creek View?

SCHOOL GOVERNANCE COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Creek View Elementary School will be electing two parent representatives and one teacher to serve on the School Governance Council at the end of March.  Our School Governance Council, (SGC), has a leadership role in the governance of the school.  The Council works with the principal on the long-term vision and strategy for the school.  They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.

Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the SGC will be held
March 22nd-28th.  The CVES website will have a VOTE icon for you to access.

We are pleased to inform you of the six parents and one teacher who have offered to be representatives on the SGC. You can learn more about each of them at this link:

Community meeting planned for new STEM-focused high school campus in North Fulton

Fulton County Schools invites parents and community members to a special March 28 meeting to provide input on its new STEM focused high school campus planned for North Fulton. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the site of the former Milton High School (now called the Milton Center) in the building's media center.

Scheduled to open by Fall 2020 on the site of the Milton Center, the building will host college and career-focused curriculum pathways with a focus in the areas of Engineering, Healthcare Science, and Information Technology. The community meeting will share information on STEM curriculum pathways and how they can be most beneficial in preparing students for their post-secondary options, whether it be through a two- or four-year college experience or through directly entering the workforce with specialized STEM skills. Earlier this month, as a first step in the engagement process, visioning workshops were held with school leaders, teachers, students, and industry experts in healthcare, information technology, and post-secondary educational institutions to discuss curriculum pathways and how the STEM campus can link the work of students to real world, project-based learning opportunities.

VOLUNTEERS:

Many volunteer opportunities are available in our school.  Parents are encouraged to help at Creek View Elementary School.   Fulton County policy requires all prospective volunteers register using the new 2015 - 2016 automated volunteer process.

Volunteers may now register on the district webpage www.fultonschool.org. Click on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers".  The new portal will allow for a one-time registration as volunteers may select more than one school during the process.  Individual campus registration is no longer required as volunteers will now be approved centrally.

Parent Information

Parents:

We wanted to make you all aware of the policies regarding lunch visitors at Creek View.  All visitors in the building must provide the front desk with a photo ID when entering the school.  In order to eat lunch with your student, you do not need to complete the volunteer training, but you will need your ID.  Thank you for your cooperation with our new visitor and volunteer procedures.
