What's happening at Creek View?

February 15  - No School

February 18 - No School (President's Day)

School Government Council Elections

The Creek View SGC will be electing new representatives to serve on the School Governance Council (SGC). We will be electing two parent positions as well as a teacher position for our spring election. Our SGC has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The council works with the principal in setting the long-term vision and goals for the school. The council is also responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as helping to design innovative solutions to increase academic success for our students and to meet the unique needs of our school community.

Elections for the parent and teacher positions will be held March 11-18. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the SGC must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by February 20th.

Candidate forms should be submitted electronically and may be accessed at the following link: https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/7358

Fulton County Schools is making it easier for parents of new students to complete their child's registration for enrollment into a Fulton County School. Parents can access the easy-to-complete, online form here. This option allows parents to control the data supplied for their student's enrollment and provide for timely processing of the enrollment request. Parents, please skip the instructions to upload copies of the required supporting documents. You are asked to bring the original required documents to the school so that school personnel may verify the authenticity and obtain copies of the documentation prior to enrollment being completed. A list of required documents for enrollment can be found here.

 Summer Reading Challenge

All students are challenged to read every day this summer, for at least 15 to 30 minutes. Parents and students are encouraged to visit the Find a Book, Georgia website and make a Summer Reading Pledge. Then they can use the site to find book recommendations throughout the summer, all tailored to a student’s interests and Lexile score.  (If the child’s Lexile score is not known, the site can estimate reading level based on answers to a few simple questions.)
Suggested summer reading goals for students based on grade levels are:
  • K-2 - students: 10 books
  • 3-5 - students: 8 chapter books
  • 6-12  students: 5 fiction books and 5 non-fiction books

Would you like a tour of our school?

Tours are available the first and third Friday of each month at either 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM. If you're interested in taking a tour of Creek View and learning more about us, our available tours are located at this link School Tour Sing-up or call the front office.

Birthday Celebrations

Some families choose to celebrate their child's birthday with a class treat at school.  This is completely optional. Due to increased food allergies that exist among our students, birthday treats are only allowed through the cafeteria. Our cafeteria manager, Chris Schram, can provide frozen treats including slushies in a variety of flavors and frozen yogurt in birthday cake flavor. Cost is $20 per class. Students may not serve snacks to peers that are not part of their lunch class.

The order form can be found here: Classroom celebrations.pdf

***Please try to submit form 2 days prior to the day you would like the treats.

2018-2019 School Calendar

We have a modified school calendar next year as we have 2 days of professional learning specific for our staff embedded throughout the school year.  Our 2 days are: August 31, 2018 and October 9, 2018.

Fulton County’s student calendar for 2018-19 is available here

Fulton County's testing schedule for 2018-19 is available here.

Many volunteer opportunities are available in our school.  Parents are encouraged to help at Creek View Elementary School.   Fulton County policy requires all prospective volunteers register using the new 2017 - 2018 automated volunteer process.

Volunteers may now register on the district webpage www.fultonschools.org. Click on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers".  The new portal will allow for a one-time registration as volunteers may select more than one school during the process.  Individual campus registration is no longer required as volunteers will now be approved centrally.

Parent Information

We wanted to make you all aware of the policies regarding lunch visitors at Creek View.  All visitors in the building must provide the front desk with a photo ID when entering the school.  In order to eat lunch with your student, you do not need to complete the volunteer training, but you will need your ID.  Thank you for your cooperation with our new visitor and volunteer procedures.
