Parents we need your assistance and cooperation in preparing for the possibility that your child might need to take medication, need assistance with a medical condition or procedure, become ill, or have an accident during school hours.  Click on the link to the right to review a letter from the Fulton County Student Health Services Department regarding policies and procedures.

Emergency Information

Our clinic is not staffed or equipped for serious injury or illness.  It is essential that student records be kept current.  Whenever a serious injury has occurred, we will call 911 first, then we will call the parent(s)/guardian(s).  We will use the contact information provided on the student "clinic cards."

Medications

If possible, medications should be taken at home rather than at school.  However, if medications must be taken at school, please complete the "Authorization to Give Medication at School" form.  You can click on the link to the upper right to retrieve this form.

The medication, in the original container along with the instruction and authorization form, must be taken to the school clinic for storage.  Parents should bring medications to school.  Under no circumstances should medication, prescription or non-prescription (including over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or Tylenol), be kept by a student.

Student Illness

Parents help us guard against the spread of germs by encouraging your child to thoroughly wash his/her hands, to properly dispose of tissue and to stay at home until they are "fever-free" for 24 hours.  Students who are contagious and/or have a fever greater than 100.4 must not be sent to school.

Parents if students are sick before leaving for school, please keep them home or make appropriate arrangements for their care.  You should wait until all possibility of contagion has passed before sending the student back to school.
