Dear Parents and/or Guardians:

Recently, our district created the Strategic Support Model that provides differentiated support for schools based on their College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) score.  As district leaders continue to collaborate with school leaders and community stakeholders, they recognize that additional resources, flexibility, and accountability must be provided so that schools meet student, teacher, and community needs.  To that end, the district has created flexible, tailored, and intensive support school categories.

As an intensive support school, the district will provide our teachers with additional job-embedded professional learning opportunities to review student assessment data and design instructional plans to address student needs.  We will accomplish this goal by implementing four Release Days that will provide additional district led professional development and peer collaboration time for teachers.  Please note that these days are in addition to district-wide professional development days and teacher workdays.

What impact will Release Days have on a student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)?

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) will be implemented on regular school days when school is in session.  IEP services will not be implemented during Release Days.

Although we realize that adjusting the instructional calendar may raise concerns, the district has piloted Release Days in other schools and have achieved great academic gains for students. We are confident that we will replicate this success at our school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at arnolds@fultonschools.org.

Mrs. Arnold, Principal
C.H. Gullatt Elementary School

Dear Great Gullatt Families,

It is with overwhelming pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of C.H. Gullatt Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve you and this community. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 17 years. I have worked with a variety of students in a variety of grade levels serving as a classroom teacher, assessment specialist, and most recently your assistant principal.

For five years, we have experienced big changes and huge gains in climate ratings and student achievement. We will continue moving, growing, and working to close the achievement gap for students.

We are committed to helping students realize their true potential Along with teachers and staff, I will continue to build strong relationship with students, parents, and community partners. We will focus on ensuring that all students are reading on grade level by third grade. We will continue to support students emotionally and socially while promoting high academics.

I have been a part of this community for the majority of my life and have made it my life’s mission to support students in this community. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or e-mail me to discuss your thoughts for making C.H. Gullatt the best school in Fulton County.
