Aja Nashun-Levette

Greetings:

I am Aja Nashun Levette a native of Atlanta, GA. I have three children in which attend Fulton County School. I have been in real estate for 14 years with an active real estate license.

Very well versed in business from working knowledge of all Microsoft programs, excellent customer service, and a great rapport with people. I worked with real estate law firms; in the closing department producing intake data entry, to researching tax records, ucc lien, filing evictions,closing loan documents, write effectively and proofread, ability to write reports, business correspondence, Issue Resolution, Communication Initiatives, Correspondence Creation, Proposals, and Process Improvement.

Determined to becoming an asset to the Fulton County School Governance Council.

I am confident that with my professional experience, along with my hands on experience; I can contribute to the goals and rigid standards in which have been set for the one to represent you and stand in on your beliefs and standards to help our children of Fulton County excel.

Please know that my resume alone, cannot illustrate the intangibles that set me apart from other candidates. I have a tremendous love for people and place high standards on understanding. I possess a calm attitude and a superb understanding of people's needs. If you are looking for someone who is positive, personable, and able to perform then I am ready to take on the challenges that come within a structured environment.

As the legal guardian of a student at Hamilton E. Holmes, I would like to serve on the SGC to assist with further improvement in quality of learning students receive. I believe that parent/guardian involvement is key to ensuring highly engaged students. I will bring a positive attitude, willingness to work with both faculty and other parent/guardians and management skills related to program development.

I wish to serve on the School Governance Council because my child future and the future of our community depends on my opinion and efforts to make our school and community an better and much greater learning enviroment so that our kids and families will have a greater chance at becoming successful citizens and more family oriented. Also my passion for my family and my community is like no other, I coach 4 basketball teams and also have been mentoring at the Andrew and Walter Young Ymca for 15 yrs and I am know the NPU-R Parks and Recreation Chairman for my community which allows me to have more access and resources for my community. I am thankful for this opportunity to be an canidate for this position on the School Governance Council and I hope that you all fill the same. Peace and Blessings to all.

Donya Dorsey

Hi my name is Donya Dorsey, i am the parent of Leah Dorsey (2 grade) and Jacquelyn Dorsey (pre-k). I'm from CAnton, Ga. Where i attended Cherokee High shcool. I gtaudated from there in 1998. I work at FACAA ( Fulton Atlanta Community Action Auth.). FACAA is a non profit organization that help people with rent. gas/electric bills, GED, and alot of other services. I love to work with people. I care alot about my kids education and i will do any thing to make their years in school great. I'm really looking forward to working with everyone to make Hamilton E Holmes Elementary School a better school for all the students there and for the ones to come in the furture.,

I have been a member of the Hamilton E. Holmes community for two years and wish to become a more active participant in this special community. As a teacher serving all of our 5th grade students, I am aware of our population's unique learning needs during this critical time in their education. I would like to be part of a leadership team that is involved in creating solutions to the challenges faced by our students and that celebrates the strengths and talents that they bring to our classrooms. I consider myself an innovative educator that keeps the students of Hamilton Holmes first always. As part of the School Governance Council, I will make sure that student success is at the forefront of all decisions made.

I have been involved in a variety of Community Service organization in which I had influence to make positive change for the community at Large. I have served as a Community Activities representing the School in my community. I am the founder of a non-profit organization whose purpose is to seed the community as agents of change.

School Governance Council Elections

Hamilton E. Holmes ES is in the third and final cohort of schools to transition to the Fulton County charter system model.  Each Cohort 3 school will participate in the election of parents/guardians and teacher representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. School Governance Council elections begin at 7:00 am Wednesday, November 12th and end at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18th.  The elections process is completely electronic (all votes will be cast online) and is managed by the district.
