About Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School
The school community of Hamilton E. Holmes is committed to academic excellence. The Hamilton Holmes school community is dedicated to developing a community of learners that includes students, teachers, and parents, and we commit ourselves to continually strive for excellence.
Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School will be electing representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. We will be electing parent/guardian positions and teacher positions for our spring election. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal in setting the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 19th-March 23rd. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by February 23rd.
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school's front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).

Georgia Parent Survey
Please follow this link to take the Georgia Parent Survey. It is very important for the state to receive feedback on our school. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet. The survey will take 5 - 10 minutes to complete.
All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.

Fulton County Schools requires ALL volunteers to register at the start of the new school year. Even if you completed a completed the online registration for the 2015-2016 school year, it is necessary to register for the 2016-2017 school year. To Register as a FCS Volunteer, click:
A few important things to note:
- Please allow 10-15 minutes for the training and application process.
- In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools.
- It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID (please do not use nicknames or "goes by" names on the application).
