Registration:
For the 2011-2012 school year, children must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2011. Please visit our Registration section for more detailed information and forms.
Proof of Residency:
Fulton County Schools, in an effort to better serve the residents of Fulton County, will be requiring the Proof of Residency forms at the beginning of each school year. The form is to be completed, notarized and returned to the school.
Attendance:
No Child Left Behind is a federal law that ranks a school on several criteria. A component of this law is attendance. If 15% of our student body is absent for 15 days, Hembree Springs will be put on the needs improvement list! This includes any absence – excused or unexcused. For instance, if your child is sick it’s counted as an absence or, if your child has gone on vacation, it’s counted as an absence.
Mrs. Raju is very concerned that she is already beginning to receive requests from parents for vacations/absences. She will not excuse vacations during the school year. Please send your child to school every day, all day. Keep the 15 days for illness and emergencies.
If a child has 5 unexcused absences, a letter from the office will be sent home. If 7 unexcused absences occur, the school social worker will be notified.
Please help us meet our goal of having all students here all day and every day!
