CHEERLEADING

Liberty Point's Cheerleading Squad is an extracurricular activity which involves cheering for our school basketball team and the crowd during games. While our focus involves learning to lead a series of cheers to rally the team and crowd, we believe education is most important so the cheerleaders at Liberty Point also have to work very hard to ensure their grades are perfect as well! While the squad is designed to introduce the basics of cheerleading,  the majority of what we do is geared toward the girls just having fun while they gain exposure to the sport! We always tell our girls to…"Cheer as hard as you can, be the best you can at what you do because remember if you don't think you're good there's always a little girl looking up to you thinking she wants to be like you.”

BASKETBALL

Liberty Point is proud to announce its Boy’s /Girl’s Basketball team of LPES.  The word is now out that LPES holds the best elementary basketball talent in the area.  Our goal is to offer basketball instruction, but with a stronger emphasis on academics and character.   This will create a solid foundation for our future student athletes as they progress to middle and high school grades.

Exhibition games will be scheduled against surrounding elementary schools in the area. Parents please understand that this isn’t to replace recreational teams your child may already play on.  This is an additional resource offered to promote good sportsmanship for your child and showcase the many talents held here at LPES.

THE NATIONAL BETA CLUB AND JUNIOR BETA CLUB

The Motto
"Let Us Lead by Serving Others."

This motto, more than simply a catchy phrase, states the philosophy upon which The National Beta Club is based. Service to others is indeed one of the most important characteristics of Beta Club membership. Students have the precious Opportunity to learn the gift of serving others in many different capacities. We not only serve here at Liberty point but across the city.  These unique assets should be found in every school and community situation, whether large or small-urban, suburban or rural. There are needs that could and should be addressed by Beta members in every school and community.

The Mission
To promote the concept of character, service, and leadership among students, and to reward students for their outstanding academic achievement.

How do I join the Beta Club?

Students are invited to become a Junior Beta member at the beginning of their 5th grade year, based on their Spring CRCT scores.  The student also must have the recommendations of their teachers and maintain an A/B average in all classes to continue in the Junior Beta Club.

Meetings
The Club meets once a month and sometime more often depending on service project activities.  The meetings are normally on the 2nd Friday of each month from 3:00 P M to 4:30 P M.   We also meet each Wednesday during lunch.  Special meeting dates will depend on service projects and special invitations.

Colors
The Junior Beta Club colors are black bottoms and gold polo shirts with black shoes.  For formal settings we dress in black and white.
