Love T. Nolan's Summer Bridge Program

This summer, our students in grades 2nd-4th had the unique opportunity to attend a hands-on, project-based learning opportunity here at Nolan. The purpose of the summer program was to bridge the gap between literacy and math, science and social studies. The program focused on using reading and writing strategies and skills for students in the other content areas. This will be accomplished using a hands-on, project based approach to teaching and learning that includes the use of technology.  The students and staff had an awesome time learning creatively and we look forward to offering this program again.

Father & Daughter Valentine's Ball 2014

The inclement weather this February couldn't stop our first Father & Daugther Dance from being a success! Though we had to reschedule the event, we still had an amazing turnout of beautiful girls and their handsome fathers, who danced the night away. Two representatives from each 4th and 5th grade class competed January 24, 2014 in our school Spelling Bee. It was a tough competition, as many of the contestants stayed in for several rounds. Ultimately, the last two standing were Talaya James (5th grader) and Alexander Izuchukwu (4th grader). These two exhibited tremendous stamina as they battled many more rounds, with neither one missing a word. In the end, Alexander took the title! He will go on to represent Love T. Nolan in the Fulton County Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 8th. Talaya, being our runner-up, will stand in for Alexander if he isn't able to attend. Congratulations to all who participated in this year's Spelling Bee!
