Mr. Matthew Vance, Principal

Thank you for visiting the Medlock Bridge Elementary website. I am the proud principal of an amazing school! Our mission is to educate and inspire all students to become lifelong learners. We strive to meet the needs of our diverse learners by providing 21st Century learning experiences, building strong community relationships, and fostering a positive and safe school climate.

When you walk the halls of Medlock Bridge Elementary, you will see vibrant displays of student work. In classrooms you will see students thinking critically about STEM explorations, or collaborating in teams on Project Based Learning units, or communicating about research as part of lessons in literacy. You will see students fostering their creativity in Music and Art classes. You will see students maintaining healthy life habits in Physical Education. You will see students in the Media Center developing a lifelong love of reading. When you speak with our faculty and staff you will witness our focus on teaching the "whole child", providing programming and enrichment that supports our students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. When you look at our students you will see lifelong learners with solid foundations to pursue their chosen paths.

Medlock Bridge Elementary has established itself as a world class school, earning recognitions such as the 2014 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We know you will love our school as much as we do.

Ingrid Parham.jpgDr. Ingrid Parham, Asst Principal

I am honored to have the awesome opportunity to return to the Medlock Bridge Elementary School community as Assistant Principal for the 2018-2019 academic term!

My education career spans more than 13 years.  I have worked as a fourth and fifth grade general and special education teacher, department chair, and Instructional Support Teacher (IST).  As IST, I provided instructional leadership and supervision to special education teachers and support staff at several schools, including Medlock Bridge, and collaborated with the teams to support exceptional children.  I am returning to Medlock Bridge from Ison Springs Elementary School where I currently serve as Assistant Principal.

Medlock Bridge is a very special place that enjoys a stellar academic reputation due in large part to an exceptionally talented staff, highly motivated student body, strong school-home connection, and supportive community partnerships.  My commitment is to support the leadership goals of Principal Vance and work of the entire school team and to do what is necessary to maintain this well-earned status.   Personally, I am an avid reader and cook.  I am also married with three children.  Our eldest is a high school math teacher and graduate student at Kennesaw State University.  Our middle child is a college freshman attending Georgia State University as a computer science major.  Our "baby" is a rising ninth grader and future surgeon, who, during his spare time, enjoys coding. As a family, we like board games, playing and watching tennis, traveling, and dining out to experience local and international cuisines.

The upcoming school year is going to be exciting for me; I hope it will be for you, too.  I look forward to working with all of you.

In the meantime, I hope you have a safe and most pleasant summer.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ingrid Parham
