Medlock Bridge Elementary will be electing representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. We will be electing parent/guardian positions and a teacher position during our spring election. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal in setting the long-term vision and strategy for the school. The Council is responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.

This spring there are two parent positions and one teacher position to be filled.

Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 19th - March 23rd . Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by February 23rd .

Candidate forms may be submitted electronically (links below) or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school's front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).

You can find an informative video about the role of the Governance Council in our school system here.

The Election Resources page has a link to the Election Candidates' Guide which provides more information and includes the Candidate Declaration Form.

And finally, the Medlock Bridge Elementary Governance Council page has information about current happenings, meetings minutes & agendas and a list of the current members and their contact information.

Check Out Volunteer Opportunities at MBES !
Fulton County Parent Volunteers!!

A new check-in system has been installed by Fulton County Board of Education at all schools.

Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, all volunteers must register PRIOR to your first volunteer commitment at Medlock. All volunteers must complete the volunteer on-line registration and view a mandatory video. Once these steps have been completed you will receive an email confirming satisfactory completion and you may then come to school and show a valid, government-issued ID.  This will complete the final step of the security registration process. You must complete the process in that order: complete online forms and mandatory video THEN come to school for final steps. (Volunteers must register annually once a new school year has begun. There is a district 48 hour approval process so please plan accordingly. When entering your information online, please use the name that is on your drivers license).

o   Register at www.fultoncountyschoolssafetysecurity.org

o   Complete the mandatory online training.

o   Complete the volunteer application online and submit.

o   Wait for a confirmation email from Fulton County Schools.

Volunteer Registration

All persons interested in volunteering in the Fulton County School District are required  to re-register/register (even if a person has completed an application in the past) by completing the new online volunteer registration/application process.  The registration process can be found on the FCS District Website under Community/Partners & Volunteers or Click Here.  Applicants should be prepared to spend about 10-15 minutes for the training and application process.  In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools.  It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID (please do not use nicknames or “goes by” names on the application).  All applicants must wait 24 hours after applying for application processing and approval.

Thank you for your commitment to the safety and security of our students and staff.
