Mountain Park Elementary will be electing new representatives to serve on our School Governance Council. There are two parent/guardian positions and one teacher position open for election this spring. Our School Governance Council plays an important leadership role in our school. The Council works with the principal on the long-term vision and strategic plan. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as design innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community. Over the past two years, our Council has worked diligently to develop our new Schoolwide Enrichment Model, apply for and receive Seed Fund money to support it and receive Requests for Flexibility for the new TAG model and for Release Days for staff training.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held May 5th – 7th. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit to the district office by April 28th!
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically or by mail (forms are attached). For additional information on our School Governance Councils and elections, view our School Governance Council webpage http://school.fultonschools.org/es/mountainpark/Pages/sgc.aspx or read the School Governance Council Candidate Guide.
