Principal's Message

There are not enough words to describe the amazing week we've had here at school! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have the best part of this school back…your kids! This week, students got to know their teachers, their peers and the routines here at school, and now we are ready to learn! I am working on getting to every classroom to read to the students introducing our theme “Train Your Brain” by reading What Do You DO with A Problem? By Kobi Yamada. I visited 4th grade today and will be reading this wonderful book to the rest of the school next week. This year we will take our theme from last year “Be Brave” and apply it to teaching the traits of joyful, independent growth. We are so excited about this work!

This week we also practiced rules and procedures to keep us safe in school like our P.A.W.S. (Pride, Attitude, Wise Choice, Safety). We had some school-wide safety drills, and an amazing Pep Rally where all of our houses (earth, wind, fire & air) were represented! The staff and I are excited to share more with you on what we do here at New Prospect that makes us so special at Curriculum Night on August 23rd. I am so honored to #experienceNewProspect each and every day!

Although we are all getting settled in, remember class placement is not final till after the 10 day count. This means that your child's teacher might be changing. You will be notified of this change by phone if it affects your child. These changes would be as a result of teacher allocations provided to us by the district. These allocations are determined by the number of students who show up within the first 10 days of the school year.

Thank you for your never-ending support!
