Parent Candidates needed for School Governance Council!!!

Dear Parents,

This is a very exciting time for our school as we prepare to establish our first School Governance Council.  The Council will work with me on the long-term vision and strategy for our school. They are responsible for approving the school’s strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.

There will be 3 parent representatives on our council.  Two will serve 2 year terms and 1 will serve a 1 year term.  At this time, we have 2 parents running for the 1 year term, and 1 parent running for a 2 year term.  Please consider running for our inaugural School Governance Council.  The council will meet approximately 6 times per year for 90 minutes.  Additional time commitments will vary based on the role assumed within the council.    FCS will provide training and certification, a one day commitment.

Any interested parent/guardian should download the School Governance Council Candidate Guide from the district’s Charter System website:  www.fultonschool.org/CharterSystem.  Parents/guardians and Teachers who desire to run must submit a Candidate Declaration Form to the district by October 15th 2014.

Please don’t forget to stop by the school’s main office to get your Home Access Center Code as this code is required for voting in the November SGC Elections. Your child’s homeroom teacher has a copy of your code available for you at your fall conference.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.  Have a great evening!

Mary Robson, Principal
