NPE's Very Own TAG Teacher,
Ms. Searcy was in Florida for the
OSIRIS-Rex Launch!

osiris.jpg
Did you know that NASA launced a spacecraft last week?  OSIRIS-Rex will be the first spacecraft to rendezvous with an asteroid, and Ms. Searcy, one of our TAG teachers, was there to cover the launch as part of the NASA Social Media Team.  In addition to being on the front row for the launch, she had two days behind-the-scenes touring NASA facilities and meeting with scientists, engineers, and astronauts.
Look at her Tweets and you will see all the wonderful things she was able to experience.  The easiest way to access her Twitter feed (@searcytag) is to go to her website:  searcytag.weebly.com where the Twitter feed appears on the home page.

The launch occured Thursday night, September 8th at 7:30 p.m.

Fridays are Spirit Day!

Show your school spirit every Friday by wearing your spirit wear t-shirts. If the entire class shows school pride by wearing any article of school spirit clothing OR school colors, their class gets 10 extra minutes of recess on Friday! You can buy your school spirit clothing at the front office.

NEEDED - Front Office Volunteers

If you are looking for a quick way to volunteer your time Amy Batley could use an extra pair of hands to help.  With the doorbell, phone and visitors all day it would be great even if you could help out for even an hour.  If you are interested send a quick email with the times and dates you can come in.  Batley@fultonschools.org

 PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Registration (Must be completed every year)

To keep in compliance with State Law and best practices, for the 2016-2017 school year, we will require that all persons interested in volunteering in the Fulton County School District to re-register/register (even if a person has completed an application in the past) by completing the new online volunteer registration/application process.  The registration process can be found on the FCS District Website under Community/Partners & Volunteers or Click Here.  Applicants should be prepared to spend about 10-15 minutes for the training and application process.  In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools.  It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID (please do not use nicknames or "goes by" names on the application).  All applicants must wait 24 hours after applying for application processing and approval.
