What can I do at home?
Parents are an important and integral part of the PBIS implementation. We encourage parents to use the same expectations and rules that the school teaches. The common language creates consistency and a unified support for expected student behavior. Together the home, school, and community share the responsibility for developing good citizens. Parents, teachers, and students collaborate to maintain a safe, learning environment.
Review and discuss with your child the common rules and behaviors and the River
Eves Expectations Matrix.
Post them at home for easy reference and incorporate them into your family
Ensure that your child is well rested and on time for each school day.
Ask your child about his/her school day.
Encourage your child to do his/her homework and keep up with his/her
Stay in contact with your child's teacher(s).
Encourage your child to use appropriate and proper language and tone.
Practice caring and polite phrases, such as "Thank you", "Excuse
me", "Please", and "I'm sorry."
Be a contributing member of your child's school. Volunteer, attend PTA events or other school
