The RNES Media Center believes in Customer Service. Our goal is to respond to all students, teachers, staff and community members with respect and focus. We believe that establishing relationships is key to a good partnership for a strong learning environment.

Materials are purchased with the focus of supporting curriculum for all of our patrons and providing personal choice reading for students. When selecting reading material a variety of points are considered, including reading levels and interest, bias, student demographic, and subject matter.  They are chosen from professional review journals and websites as well as suggestions from patrons.

The Media & Ed Tech Instructor  plans instruction for students that align with the Georgia Common Core Standards. The lessons are taught by the certified media specialist.  Lessons are developed and planned to support curriculum and to encourage interest and personal commitment to the library as well as teach students library skills.

21st century library skills include the use of technology and evaluating websites as well as using reference sources and how to find the just right book. Developing reading and literacy supports standards in all elementary grades.

Parents are welcome to check out books too. We ask that you limit yourself to books 5 per visit!

Students in grades 1 - 4 may check out up to 2 books per visit and may keep them for 2 weeks. They may be renewed or returned early. Kindergarten children may check out 1 book per visit and 5th graders may have 3. If a student loses or damages a book we do ask for payment. Paper cover books are $5 and hardback books prices vary. if the book is found before the end of school a refund will be given.

We LOVE volunteers! Whether your schedule allows several hours a week or a few hours during the entire year, you are welcome in our library.

If you have questions please feel free to email or call: 770-552-6320 x 151.
