School Governance Council Elections
Roswell North Elementary will be electing new representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. There is one parent/guardian position and one teacher position open for election this spring. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal on the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community. This past year, our Council worked diligently to develop our 2013-2016 strategic plan, complete Requests for Flexibility from applicable district and state rules and regulations, make recommendations for school budget development, ensure alignment of school interests to the new strategic plan, and receive valuable community input on the forward moving direction of teaching and learning at Roswell North.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher position on the School Governance Council will be held May 13th – 15th. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit to the district office by April 25th!
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically (click appropriate link below, complete form and click "submit") or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school's front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).
