My name is Stephanie Gainey and I grew up in Roswell, GA. I received my Bachelors Degree in 2007 from Georgia Southern University. After graduating, I taught second grade at Flat Shoals Elementary in Rockdale County for five years. I spent the last two years discovering what the corporate world is like and decided I could not imagine spending my life anywhere else but teaching. I love learning and I am so excited to be coming back to a career I love!
I have two brothers. My older brother is 31 and he lives in Roswell with his wife and two children. My younger brother is 28 and lives in Buckhead. I am engaged and getting married in September. My husband’s name is Matt and he works for Jamestown Properties. We have a black dog named Izzie. She is a Cockapoo and just turned a year old in December. We enjoy being active and spending time outdoors. We also love spending time with our friends and family.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach your child and thrilled to become a part of the SAE family!
Connie McLaughlin - mclaughlinc@fultonschools.org - http://mclaughlinsae.weebly.com/
My name is Connie McLaughlin, and this is my second full year teaching second grade. I began teaching at Sweet Apple in January 2013, and I am very excited for the coming year.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the same university. I taught at a preschool for one year, and then I began teaching fourth grade in central Illinois. I taught fourth grade for 11 1/2 years, and after my son was born, we moved to the Chicago area and I stayed home to take care of him. We moved to Alpharetta in 2009, and I began volunteering at my son's school and later started substitute teaching at Alpharetta Elementary and Sweet Apple. Even though I am from Illinois, I LOVE living in Georgia and do not miss the cold and snowy winters in the Midwest!
In my free time, I enjoy taking short weekend trips with my husband and son, Kyle. We frequently explore new cities in the South, since so many places are new to us. I also enjoy shopping, particularly at the mall, but you may run into me at Target, as well. I like going for walks, listening to my ipod, playing with my puppy, going out to dinner, being with my friends, and teaching.
I look forward to another great year of teaching at Sweet Apple!
