My name is Rachel Rafinski. I am excited to be returning to Sweet Apple and look forward to teaching 4th grade this year. I have taught 5th grade, 4th grade, and Kindergarten in Fulton County and Clarke County. I graduated with my education degree from the University of Georgia along with endorsements in math and technology .  Go Dawgs!

I am married to my best friend, Jason, and we have an awesome daughter named Ava.  She is an avid reader (like me!), and we had a blast this summer exploring several of my childhood favorites, such as Mr. Popper's Penguins, The Secret Garden, and of course, everything by Roald Dahl!  We have two dogs, Huckleberry and Emma, who spent most of their summer playing in the lake.

I have been a Georgia teacher for over 20 years. I'm excited to be returning to the classroom this year after doing an instructional technology position at last year.

I did my undergraduate studies at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Shortly after I received my teaching degree from Western Connecticut State University. I also have my masters in instructional technology from Georgia College and State University.

My husband, Ron, and I live just down the street and my mom moved the area a little over a year ago. The rest of my immediate family are spread around the US primarily in Connecticut and Texas. We have two dogs that are brother and sister. They are super cute but not always the most well behaved. My hobbies outside of school are sailing, traveling, and reading.

Anderson2.JPGCatherine Anderson -  andersonc1@fultonschools.org

Hello wolf family! My name is Catie Anderson and I teach EIP at Sweet Apple. I currently own a townhouse in the Roswell area and coach at Roswell High School so I am very familiar with this community and love being so close to where I work.

Last year was my first year at Sweet Apple and I taught fourth grade. Before that, I taught third grade at Wilson Creek Elementary in Johns Creek. Prior to that, I taught second grade in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am thrilled to be broadening my knowledge and abilities and teaching a variety of grade levels. My favorite subjects to teach are reading and writing as I love seeing students get lost in their books that they are reading and their characters that they are writing about.

As for my own personal education, I received my bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama in Elementary Education. I then went straight on to pursue my master's degree in Reading Education at University of Georgia. I am hoping soon to begin to also pursue my EdD in Educational Administration as my end goal is to be a principal.

I look forward to meeting you and your students soon.
