Lauren Peters petersl1@fultonschools.org - http://kindergardenoflearning.weebly.com/Peters.JPG

Hello! My name is Lauren Peters and I am excited to continue doing what I am most passionate about – teaching kindergarten! I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University. My husband Scott and I have 2 sweet and sassy daughters, Houston, a Sweet Apple fourth grader, and 3 year old Braxton. I began my career 16 years ago and have found my happy place working together with children and families in my Kinder"Garden." I look forward to many more years of growing and gardening, too. Kindergarten is exciting, there is never a dull moment, and that is one of the things I love most! I love introducing students to school and getting excited about learning with them. We work hard, but have lots of FUN! I also love seeing those sweet little faces brighten up when that lightbulb turns on. Each child is like a rosebud, they don't always bloom at the same time, but the last bloom is just as pretty as the first.

My name is Mindy Deprospero, and I grew up in Orlando, Florida.  I attended Valdosta State University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Counseling and Guidance and a Master of Arts in Early Education. I have lived in the Roswell area for 15 years.  I taught Kindergarten for 12 years at The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia.  This is my third year teaching in Fulton County and I couldn't be more excited! I still can't believe I have been teaching for 15 years!  Kindergarten is my home...I love it.  We never have the same day twice, they always keep me on my toes and teach me new things every day.  I love that I get to be one of the first people that introduce children to elementary school.  I take that job very seriously and my goal is for each and every one of my students to walk out of the classroom at the end of the year saying, "I LOVE SCHOOL...I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK HERE!"

I have two little girls, Katie (9 - 3rd Grade) and Ali (4 - Pre-K) at Sweet Apple Elementary. We are all very excited to be at Sweet Apple together this school year!  Katie and Ali also have a new puppy named, Augustus Gloop "Gus" named after the Charlie and Chocolate Factory character.  He is a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier and we love him.

I was just recently married to a wonderful man named, David.  I am now a Step Mom to Megan (10), Sarah (13) and Jacob (15) and could not be more excited!  I am sure you will be hearing stories about all of them, as they are always supplying me with funny stories. Katie and Ali may make some guest appearances in class throughout the school year, which is always fun :).

Odom2.JPGAbbi Odom - odoma@fultonschools.org -

My name is Abbi Odom and I am very excited to be joining Sweet Apple Elementary this school year.  Over the past nine years, I have taught in Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, Georgia Pre-K, and Head Start.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia, I also have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University.

After teaching five different grades in different settings, I have come to the conclusion that I love Kindergarten!  Here are just a few reasons. First, I am setting their first impression of school as well as the foundation of their educational future. Second, they are eager to learn everything.  Third, I see so much progress from where they started the year to where they ended.  Last, the moment everything comes together is always fun to watch.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, baking, volunteering at my church, and playing golf.
