Fulton County Schools has developed a system of cohesive school planning practices that demonstrates the system's commitment to ensuring each Fulton County Schools student graduates on time and is supremely prepared for college and career, as outlined in the district's strategic plan, Building Our Future 2017.
Primary objectives of the district's school planning framework include:
- Identifying and prioritizing opportunity areas to dramatically improve student achievement
- Creating plans to achieve specific student performance gains and meet student needs
- Increasing transparency and accountability
District and school leaders are directly accountable for achieving the objectives and initiatives outlined in each school's plan. A critical component of the district's school planning model is developing engaging, transparent communications with parents, students, and the local school community. Well-informed, involved parents and community members are vital to building a supportive, challenging school environment where students can fully meet their potential for academic, social, and personal growth.
Whether your particular school is participating in Charter System Cohort 1, 2, or 3, or your school is also a Title I designated campus, every FCS school will follow this system-wide planning framework to develop a clear strategic direction for improving student achievement and effectively communicate the plan to all stakeholders.
