AP Chemistry is the equivalent of a full year of college general chemistry and is taught at a similar difficulty level as a good engineering school. The class is designed to offer students the best possible preparation for science course work at nationally competitive colleges. Students will earn a semester of college credit for a 4 and a full year of college credit for a 5 at almost all colleges. Emphasis is on problem solving, expressing concepts in a clear way, and laboratory techniques. The class is rigorous and will require excellent focus in lecture, 30-60 minutes study time every school night (additional time when studying for tests), good test taking skills, and a serious commitment from you.
Prerequisite – a year of chemistry and a year of biology (preferably honors) 85+ average before honors points
