2018 2019 Course Verification.png

  1. What is a Course Request Verification Sheet?
A course verification contains a list of all courses, (core and elective) that your scholar has been registered for. This list will be used to generate your scholar's schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.
  1. Is this my scholar's schedule?
No. This is a request of courses. All courses are not guaranteed. It is our priority to schedule scholars based on their graduation requirements and the needs for all scholars within the building.  There are other factors that affect scheduling between now and the beginning of school, such as staffing.
  1. What should I check for on the course request verification sheet?
The scholar and parent should check for any repeat courses, correct levels for AP/Advanced courses, and graduation requirements. Every scholar and parent should also check to ensure each scholar is enrolled for all core classes (ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies).
  1. What if my child already took a course listed on my course verification sheet?Scholars can access their transcript by logging into Home Access Center. If a passing grade is listed on the transcript, a change will be honored. If there is not a passing grade, the request will remain until the course has been passed. Summer School registration will be held every Wednesday in the cafeteria beginning Wednesday, March 27th.
  1. When are course requests verification sheets due?
If changes are required, the scholar will submit the verification form directly to the
Counseling Center by Tuesday, March 26th. No changes will be made following this date for the 2019-2020 school year requests. A signature from both the parent and scholar are required.
  1. What if I don't see any issues?
Keep your sheet. Your form will only be turned back in to the Counseling Center if changes are required.
  1. What if my scholar is interested in an AP course?
Scholars were recommended by teachers for AP courses.  If a scholar did not meet the requirements, a waiver will be required. The request should be written at the bottom of the verification form and a waiver must be picked up from the Counseling Suite. A signed AP contract must be signed for every course.

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Our goal at Creekside High School is to make all stakeholders aware of the value and importance of student attendance. Addressing chronic absence is a key component of improving graduation rates, increasing academic achievement, and giving young people the best chance at success in their adult life. Attendance is essential to school success.
