Independence High School is well-equiped to offer students a technology-enhanced learning environment, and teachers have taken advantage of this by incorporating technology into their teaching methods.

We have Promethean interactive whiteboards in all classrooms as well as "ActiVotes" and "ActivSlates" to further student involvement and teacher evaluation in the learning process. We also have three general labs with Activboards that are used for online testing and test preparation among other things. These resources are used daily. Our Career Technology Department offers very popular courses, including Web Design. Moreover, the Language Arts Department purchased Kindles (electronic readers) which have ignited an interest in reading by students.

Our Media Center is the hub for research. Our Media EducationTechnology Instruction, Ms. Lisa Scholberg, provides students with expert guidance on how to use various online databases as well as in-house resources to complete their projects.

Students: Please review Technology Use Practices at IHS
