 School Governance Council Elections

Langston Hughes is one of Thirty-seven schools (Cohort 2) making the transition to the charter system during the 2013-2014 school year. This year, considered a Planning Year,  these schools will focus on establishing and training their School Governance Councils.

The purpose of a School Governance Council (SGC) is to provide parents, school staff, and community members with a leadership role in the governance of the school. We have created a School Governance Council Overview for Cohort 2 schools to provide you with information about the responsibilities and function of these new governance councils. On this page, you will also find a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the charter system in general and the transition that the Cohort 2 schools will be making this year.

Voting has now closed for the Langston Hughes School Governance Council. Please visit http://portal.fultonschools.org/CharterSystem/Pages/default.aspx for more updates on those members selected for the Langston Hughes School Governance Council.
