Senior Information

All Seniors- If you have not paid your senior dues-please do so immediately. They are now $120.00. Please bring to Mrs. Lewis during 5th period in A101! If they are not paid, students will not be able to participate in Senior Week activities.

PROS Raffle

The PROS raffle this week will be for your choice of Apple Headphones, an IPhone charger, or a Fandango gift card and the tickets cost 5 Sparta Bucks. We will draw 4 winners on Friday afternoon. The raffle next week will be 10 Sparta bucks, and will be for 2 pairs of tickets to Six Flags. Good luck! Be prepared, be respectful, be on-time, be smart, be a Spartan!

Golf

Congrats to Ashley Stadler, Camielle Thompson, and Nina Douglas on their win against Milton and Centennial High School yesterday at their match!

Boys Track

Great job to the boys track team. They placed 2nd in the region overall. This was an amazing effort for the entire team and showed growth in all aspects of the program.

Baseball

The Spartan Baseball team defeated Grady yesterday by a score of 17-3. Rees Viersen hit a grand slam and several players had multiple hits in the game. Benny Moses got the win. The Spartans play Grady tomorrow at home for Senior Night. Come out and support Spartan Baseball as we honor our Seniors!

Girl's Track

Congrats to Girl's track for rocking the region!

The 4x400 team ran a blazing 3:41.8- Kennedy Crawford, Jayda Drake Howard, Destiny Jackson, and Sarah Kouyeth placed 1st.

The B 4X400 ran 3:54.6 which puts them in the top 10 in state all classification! Maya Dunn, Kayla Tolbert, Kennedi Weston Shields, and Samaya Hollman-Lewis.

There will be a meeting this Thursday afternoon right after school for anyone interested in playing football this year. We will hold the meeting in the aux gym. Thanks!

Senior Olympics

Seniors, pick up a form for Senior Olympics! They are located outside Ms. King's room D213. Sign up 8 people to a team- 4 boys and 4 Girls with one team captain. Members can't have ISS or OSS this year. The form is due to Ms. King in D213 by April 28th. Remember, only one form per team and the Olympics are May 18 from 11:30 to 3:30!

EOC Information

Students: You must bring your tablet every day, fully charged. You are expected to take your End of Course Milestone Tests on these tablets beginning April 24th. If your tablet is in need of repair, please bring it to the media center.

Wellness Week

Today kicks off the beginning of our Wellness Week activities. Join us in the Media Center for a Lunch & Learn series on Healthy Relationships during all three lunches. Also, come meet musician Jon Adams as he introduces us to the benefits of Sound Therapy today in the Courtyard.

Baseball

Ty Milliner, Nate Cohen, and Beau Foster each collected multiple hit as the Spartans Baseball team defeated Maynard Jackson 12-2. Christian Gilliam set the game ending walk off single to seal the deal for the Spartans. The Spartans travel to Crim today to take on Grady and have their final regular season home game Wednesday, which is also Senior Night. Come out and support our Seniors and Spartan Baseball!

Prom

Prom check out slips are due Thursday, April 20 at 4 pm. Turn these in outside C109, Mrs. Carreras' office. Extra are outside D225. You MUST attend periods 1,2,3,4 to attend prom this Friday, April 21.

Freshman SGA

Have you ever gone to the vending machine but realized you forgot your wallet? Well fear no more, we've got you covered. Your Freshman SGA is selling stick-on phone wallets! The wallets are blue and they say "Spartan Nation" in white letters. They cost $4 each and will be sold in the commons every morning this week. Come support Freshman SGA!

Senior Olympics

Seniors, pick up a form for Senior Olympics. They are located outside Ms. King's room D213. Sign up 8 people to a team- 4 boys and 4 girls with one team captain. Soccer

Congratulations to Osman Ruzayen for winning athlete of the month! Also congratulations to the boys varsity soccer for making it to state playoffs with the 3rd seed.

The boys soccer team defeated region rival Grady last night by a score of 4 to 0 to capture third place in the region and to qualify for state.

EOC

Cheerleading and Diva Information

If you made the Varsity Cheerleading squad or the Spartan Diva squad for the 2017-2018 school year, this is a reminder that there will be a meeting on Thursday, afterschool in the dance studios. Those who are interested in being managers for either squad should come as well.

Baseball

The Spartans Baseball team broke out the brooms on the series and season sweep of Carver yesterday by scores of 13-0 and 11-1. Evan Murphy pitched a 1 hit shout out in game 1 and Benny Moses and Beau Foster teamed up to complete the sweep in game 2. The Spartans are now 16-5 on the season. 

Cabaret

Attention all students auditioning for the Musical Theatre Cabaret: Auditions have now been postponed to Tuesday, April 11th after school due to a family emergency. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a great Spring Break

Microsoft Field Trip

Ms. Elliot would like to give a huge shout out to all the students who went of the field trip to Microsoft yesterday. Your behavior and involvement was superb and you represented North Springs very well.

Cabaret

Attention anyone interested in auditioning for the annual Musical Theatre Cabaret- please plan to stay afterschool Thursday the 29th  for auditions. Bring your best 30 seconds of a Broadway selection ready to sing. Auditions start at 4 and should conclude by 6 pm. They will be held in the Orchestra room, E110 with Mr. Landreau.

The Girls 4x400 is #1 in the USA. Kennedy Crawford, Saran Kouyeth, Destiny Jackson, and Jayda Drake Howard are the fastest girls in the Nation!

Baseball

Luke Shulz, Josh Smith, and Beau Foster each had multiple hits to lead the Spartans Baseball over Carver 10-0 yesterday. Rees Viersen got the win no the mound by tossing a 3 hit shutout. The Spartans travel to Carver tomorrow for game 2 of the series. The JV Spartans play at home today versus Riverwood.  

Sister Act

Did you miss your chance to see 'Sister Act' this weekend? Well you have one more chance! There will be an in-school performance of 'Sister Act' this Friday, March 31 during 3rd and 4th periods. Tickets are $5 and will be on sale in the commons during lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Seating is limited so get yours before they sell out.

The Varsity Girls soccer team beat Jackson High School 2-1 on Friday. Goals were scored by Amaris Frenchman and Sophia Charanis. With this fantastic win, the girls secured a spot in the state tournament

On Tuesday, March 28, counselors will be verifying your name for your high school diploma and senior exit survey through their English class. This task must be completed by ALL seniors. The link will be on the North Springs Website. Please make sure you complete this on next Tuesday, March 28th with the counselors. There will also be a station in the media center for you to complete this task on that date through the senior hurdle event. Thank you!

Senior Final Hurdle

Senior Final Hurdle! March 28th in the Media Center All Day! If you need to still apply to colleges, register for the SAT/ACT or complete FAFSA, help is on the way! There will be a FAFSA workshop, Admission Representatives from colleges onsite, and ACT/SAT registration help all for you! Sign Up in Counselors Office.

Sister Act will be running today at 7:30, Saturday at 7:30. and March 23-25 at 7:30 with a special matinee show on March 25 at 3:00 as well.

FBLA

North Springs FBLA continued to break records at the 2017 Georgia FBLA State Leadership Conference. The chapter took home several awards, including Gold Superior Chapter of the Year, and 6th Place for Largest Chapter Membership. Mr. Brian Patterson was awarded the Membership Excellence Award for 100%  membership in all of his Work-Based Learning classes.

UGA Freshman

Do you know of a Male student that has been accepted and will be attending UGA this fall??? Tau Kappa Epsilon has four scholarships they are awarding to an incoming UGA Freshman. Please have your students stop by A101 during their  lunch time to pick up an application. 

National School Breakfast Week

It's day 3 of National School Breakfast week and to celebrate your cafe is serving breakfast for lunch! Never had school breakfast before? Come by your school cafe during lunch today and see what everyone is talking about! Tomorrow i visit your cafe during breakfast and visit with the surprise celebrity server!

CBT Recycling

Recycle pick up today. Place bins outside your classrooms and they will be returned at the end of the day. Pick up will be during 2nd and 3rd period.

Senior Class Council

The Senior Movie Event is happening this Thursday during fifth period! All seniors are allowed to participate and snacks will be provided.

The Spartan Baseball team had a huge come from behind victory over Decatur last night 6-5. The Spartans plated 4 runs in the last 2 innings to seal the victory. Several Spartans contributed in the 13 hit affair and Justin Reid’s 2 run homer in the 7th put the Spartans ahead for good. Rees Viersen got the win on the hill. Spartans play Decatur Wednesday at home. Game time is 5:55om come out and support Spartan Baseball.

Student Ambassador Applications

Student Ambassador Applications for 2017-2018 are available to download and print from the daily announcement page on the website or can be picked up from Mrs. Ciepluch's office D108. They are due back by Thursday, March 23! They are due back by Thursday, March 23! Ambassadors must be rising Sophomores or Juniors with at least a B average. All the info is in the application.

Microsoft Office Certification

Do you ever want to do something really cool on your essay but you didn't know all of the features to Microsoft word? Are you extremely familiar with te Microsoft Applications and need something to show for it? Getting M.O.S certified is the answer. The benefits are outstanding. It looks amazing on your resume, allows you to write essays faster, and increases your chances of being hired by an employer. Come join us Wednesday, March 8 at 7:45 am in the library conference room for more information on getting your M.O.S certification.

SGA

Student Government is holding a Sock Drive benefiting Fulton Nursing Homes, from February 27 to March 8. Please donate any type of NEW socks to the bin in your 1st period class. The first period with the most donations will win a Chick-Fil-A breakfast.

Fencing Club

North Springs Fencing Club is Sponsoring 1 more free Fencing Clinics! Come today! Beginners welcome! Fencing Club will supply the equipment. 2 more FREE clinic days left, attend one ore both. March 6 and March 13 at 3:45 PM in the school Cafeteria. Get your waiver from Dr. Brooking, E-207.

Girls Track

Congrats to the Girls track team for once again having the fastest 4x400 team in the state! Kennedy Crawford, Jayda Drake Howard, Destiny Jackson, and Saran Kouyeth ran 3:47 on Saturday. Other 1st places include Kennedi Westin Shields for an 800, Jennedy Crawford for a 400, Destiny Jacson, for a 10, Jayda Drake Howard for 100 Hurdles, and Jayda Drake Howard for 300 Hurdles. Ashton Coats got 2nd in High Jump. Saran  Kouyeth got 2nd in 100. Maya Dunn got 2nd in 300 Hurdles. The team competes Thursday at Paneview.

Model UN will be having a meeting on Tuesday, March 7, afterschool in D201, (Ms. Olson's room). Open to anyone who wants to join.

Girls Soccer

The Varsity Girls Soccer Team beat SShiloh High School 3-1 on Friday! Ariana Dinberg scored two goals and Sophia Charanis and Madi Kamean each scored on goal! Great work lady Spartans!

HOSA

Reminder that the Red Cross Blood Drive is on March 7 and Monday is the last day to sign up. Sign-ups are available during lunches and on the Red Cross website. 

Edgenuity Program

The Edgenuity Program begins tomorrow, March 7th after school. Please come to the cafeteria right after school to get registered.
