GB Votes NO to lottery for 2013-2014 school year
Based on Fulton County Schools’ attendance projections and a recommendation by principal, Dr. Lisa Stueve, the Governance Board recently voted not to hold a lottery for students applying by the January 16, deadline for the 2013-14 school year. However, the board does expect that a lottery may be necessary for the 2014-15 school year.
What does this mean for current and future families? Students living in North Springs’ attendance zone will continue to be able to apply to the magnet programs and attend NSCHS without restriction. If seats are available in 2014-15, all student applicants living outside our attendance zone but in Fulton County will be placed in a lottery and names will be drawn at random for the number of seats available. Students living outside of Fulton County will not be permitted to participate in the lottery.
According to the terms of our current charter, younger siblings of current students living outside our attendance zone, regardless of their county of residence, will be “grandfathered” in, and thus, eligible to apply to and attend NSCHS without participating in the lottery. This applies to any family that has a current student at NSCHS at the time a lottery is instituted.

Charter Approved by State
North Springs' charter was recently approved for 3 years by Georgia. This means that North Springs will be able to continue to function as a charter school for the upcoming years. Students will be able to choose from four "academies" to learn from and dive in depth.
