The Governance Council presents the following Requests for Flexibility (RFF's) for public comment. The RFF's are proposed waivers from existing policies and require stakeholder examination and comment. The thirty (30) day comment period commences Monday, October 24, 2016 and extends through Thursday, November 24, 2016
The Governance Council is requesting a renewal of two previously approved waivers, as well as three additional waivers.

Renewal: Strength and Conditioning class to serve as the required Personal Fitness
credit for graduation
Renewal: Broaden the definition of “physical science” to include IB science courses
to satisfy the graduation requirements for Diploma-track students
New Request: Have MYP assessments in world language satisfy the district
requirements rather than having students complete district
assessments and MYP assessments.
New Request: Two student release days for teacher professional development to
be aligned with feeder schools in our cluster.
New Request: Waiving the $500 expense cap on field trips to allow for more out-of-
state or international travel opportunities for student learning/engagement.
