Mission Statement

Riverwood International Charter School prepares students to be confident, creative, compassionate global citizens through high expectations for learning, excellence in teaching, seamless curriculum, community service participation, and engagement of parents and community.

 

Magnet Program Information

The International Studies Magnet program allows students to become familiar with the cultural, geographical, and political diversity of the world’s many cultures. Through participation in the grades 9 and 10 facet of International Baccalaureate called Middle Years, magnet students receive instruction in all subject areas that is prepared to meet Georgia curriculum requirements with a unique and rigorous internationally-minded lens required by IB. Magnet students continue in the grades 11 and 12 facet of International Baccalaureate called the Diploma Programme via IB classes or alternately through a rigorous set of a-la-carte IB, Advanced Placement, and Honors World Languages, Humanities (English + Social Studies), and strategic electives. Magnet students earn a prestigious magnet seal on their diploma and special recognition at graduation.

    

​Prospective Student Tours and Information Sessions
Learn more about the Magnet program at one of the regularly scheduled Information sessions. Usually held four times a year between October and January, the Information sessions and tours are for parents and students.  learn more


Students may attend Riverwood if they live with a parent or guardian within the Riverwood attendance zone (view attendance map), or by applying through the Magnet Program (see below) 



International Studies Magnet Information
The  2017-18 Magnet Deadline was Sunday, January 15, 2017

Please read the step-by-step Magnet application instructions carefully.

  • Applicant must be a current 8th grader (High School Class of 2021) zoned to attend a Fulton County school, or currently enrolled at Ridgeview Charter Middle School

  • Applicant must present at least an 80(B) in Language Arts, Social Studies, and World Language, and passing grades in all other subjects, based on first semester 8th grade grades

  • Applicant must submit the online application for Riverwood and all required supporting documentation including essay, transcript, test scores, and discipline record before January 15, 2017

  • School acceptance notifications will begin February 15, 2017​​
