The mission of the Mathematics Department is to provide high quality, forward-looking instruction at all levels, to encourage and develop the mathematical skills and talents of students, to provide an understanding of the logical structure and style of mathematics, and to help develop quantitative and abstract reasoning and the ability to use mathematics as a computational and analytical tool.
Students will learn to communicate mathematical ideas effectively and to use basic computational skills, mathematical models, and technology to solve problems. Students will be challenged to develop skills in analysis, reasoning, creativity, collaborative learning, and self-expression. The department maintains high academic and behavioral expectations while directing students to realize their full potential and to become influential members of society.
