The Showcase of
Performing and Visual Arts (SPAVA)
is held twice each year. Students from all Fine Art
disciplines transform the lobby into a gallery of displays,
performances and presentations. The event, which began in 2001,
recognizes Riverwood's artistically gifted and talented students.
Student actors, singers, and instrumentalists perform throughout the
evening as well. SPAVA is free and open to the community.
2017-2018 SPAVA dates are Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:30pm and Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 7pm.

may audition for this county wide band. Orchestra auditions are on a
first-come, first-served basis. However, the students must be
pre-registered at Riverwood to audition. Students meet for rehearsal

perform for an audience.
All-State Orchestra is a great
opportunity for students to play with other accomplished musicians from across
the state of Georgia. A three-round audition process culminates in a
professional performance in early March in Athens each year. Inquire

The orchestra participated in LGPE
(Large Group Performance Evaluation) in March 2017. Often considered
the “final exam” for music groups, the Raider's Intermediate
Orchestra earned a Superior rating while the Advanced Orchestra earned an
