Greeting Bear Creek Middle School Community,
I hope that you have enjoyed your summer break. I would like to send a couple of reminders as we prepare for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
Bear Creek will implement a clear, netted, or mesh bag policy this year. We are encouraging that all student book bags must be 100% clear, netted, or mesh which will allow school staff to see what is inside. Young ladies are permitted to carry smaller bags inside of their book bag as it may be necessary for personal and health reasons.
This is also a reminder that we will have our Sneak Peak on Wednesday, August 7th for 6th graders and Thursday, August 8th for 7th and 8th graders from 6 pm to 7 pm. Parents may arrive at 5:30 pm to sign up for activities and for additional questions or concerns for administrators/staff members that may not pertain to classroom teachers. Parents and students will be able to interact with their teachers starting at 6 pm. Even though the end time is 7 pm, at no time will anyone be asked to leave if they are engaged with staff members for our goal is to support you and your child.
We will also implement virtual classes this school year at Bear Creek through Proximity Learning for Math, Science and Spanish. The virtual classes will allow students to interact with a certified teacher each day virtually (they will be able to see the teacher and the teacher will be able to see them) through their devices. Each virtual class will have a para-professional assigned to provide additional support for students. I will provide more details during the Sneak Peak.
Lastly, the first day of school for all students is on August 12th. We look forward to seeing you. I'm looking forward to a productive and positive school year.
