The Camp Creek Middle School Media Center houses 15,000 items including books, videos/DVDs, CDs, PlayAways, eBooks, and eReaders.  This varied collection provides for recreational reading and research needs on a wide range of levels.   Students also have access to 25 computers for research needs, for skills practice, for accessing the library’s catalog, and for reading ebooks. 

            Research skills including using databases, website evaluation, note taking, and citing sources are taught to support the needs of students.  Motivational reading activities include book swaps, book fairs, Café Read-a-Latte, read-ins, and participation in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl. 

            An average of 10,500 books are checked out yearly, 5,100 students visit the library on hall passes, 10,100 students visit with classes.

Check Out Policy 

·         Students may check out two books at a time

·         Students are charged a fine of five cents per day for each overdue book

·         Books are checked out for a two week period and can be renewed
