CCRPI: THE NEW AYP
Concerns about the narrow focus of No Child Left Behind accountability motivated the Georgia Department of Education to request a waiver from Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements. The new system, called the College & Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI), considers a broad range of indicators in calculating our school’s success, as shown in the chart below.
We now have results for the 2011-2012 and the 2012-2013 school years. As expected, adjustments were made by the GA Department of Education, and our original 2012 score was recalculated. Below is a table that shows both scores. As you see, our score declined slightly. The Administrative team will is studying this data, alongside our Guiding Coalition group, which includes teacher leaders and representatives from each grade level and subject area, in order to determine our strengths and weaknesses. Our School Governance Council will use this information as they write Holcomb's three year Strategic Plan so that we target areas of concern and continue to provide a world class education for every Holcomb Bridge student.
Hopefully we will receive our 2013-2014 results this summer so that we can evaluate that data as we plan for the new school term. To read more about CCRPI, go to the GA Department of Education's website: http://www.gadoe.org/CCRPI/Pages/default.aspx.
