Originally from Texas, Mr. Peterson brings a diverse set of experiences to his role of Assistant Principal at Hopewell.  He served in the United States Navy and was stationed at the Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was honorably discharged in 2007 at which time he moved to the Atlanta area to begin his career in education.  Mr. Peterson began teaching at Forsyth Central High School.  He taught both United States History and World History and coached varsity football.  Mr. Peterson then transferred to Chattahoochee High School where he served as an Interrelated Resource Teacher before he was promoted to the role of Graduation Coach.  As a member of Chattahoochee's leadership team, Mr. Peterson championed several school-wide initiatives that led to an increase in the school's graduation rate. 

Mr. Peterson began serving as the 8th grade Assistant Principal at Hopewell in July 2015.  Mr. Peterson is passionate about helping each student achieve their full potential.  He is very proud to be a part of the HMS family and is looking forward to working with the students, staff, and parents during the 2017-18 school year.  Mr. Peterson lives in Forsyth County with his wife Corey and daughters Claire (6) and Amelia (5).
