Hopewell Orchestra

The 6th Grade Orchestra competed in the Music in the Parks Festival at Six Flags this past weekend.  The orchestra received superior ratings for their outstanding performance and brought home two trophies.  They received a First Place trophy in the Middle School String Orchestra 1-AA category and the Best Overall Orchestra trophy for the entire festival.   Congratulations 6th grade orchestra!


Hopewell Band

Congratulations to Director Audrey Murphy and her HMS Symphonic Band for receiving Superior ratings for their concert and sight-reading performance. The prepared music literature performed was the most difficult rated music of all adjudicated performances. They have consistently earned superior ratings at GMEA District V Large Group Performance Evaluation.


Technology Fair

Fulton County School System Technology Fair winners:

Aratrika and Urjoshi Kar – Animation, 1st place

Nishant Baglodi, Mobile Apps – 3rd place

Adithya Chimalakonda – Video Productions, 1st place


Football Honor

Congratulations to 7th grader Ashton Martin, who was selected to play for the United States National Football Team in the International Bowl 1/30-2/3 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX.  This is an enormous opportunity and honor for Ashton.  The game will be streamed live (he is on the U-14 Stars team).  Visit www.internationalbowl.com  for more information about the event and for how to stream the game.

Academic Bowl

Hopewell's Academic Bowl team won 1st place in its Fulton County competition on Wednesday November 18th!  In December there will be a playoff for the top 3 teams to decide final ranking for the county.  Our team will move on to compete in the PAGE regional completion January 9th representing Hopewell Middle School and Fulton County top achievers.  Club sponsors are Mrs. Brejcha and Ms. Clark, competitors include Bolaji Alabi, Belle Catanzaro, Kabeer Chawla, Aarav Jani, Faizan Khan, Satya Thota.

Junior Beta

At the Junior Beta competition, several HMS students received awards and honors.  Camille Lamkin placed 1st in digital photography, Kelly Mi placed 1st in math, Satya Thota placed 1st in social studies, Isabel Filapek placed 1st for trading pin design, and Taylor Simpson was elected as the new state of Georgia Junior Beta Secretary!


HMS Tennis Team

Congratulations to the Hopewell tennis team who won the Fulton County Tennis Tournament on October 17.  Isabella Larson won Girls singles and only dropped 4 games the entire tournament. The boys doubles team of Campbell Harmon & Anthony Colapietro won the Boys doubles championship.   The Girls doubles team of twins Danielle & Daniella Clayborn were victorious as well.  Grant Marzio came in 3rd in Boys singles & Erika Aaron & Reid Jaeger came in third in the Girls doubles.  Other tournament participants included Danny Vetrano, Jordan Cook, Mason Goodwin, Sarah Beth Waller and John Empoliti. Coach Haak also wants to recognize the entire HMS tennis team for their dedication and hard work this season! 



HMS Orchestra

HMS Orchestra Students participated in first round GMEA All-State Orchestra auditions last Saturday at Centennial High School.  Congratulations to the following orchestra students that passed on to the second round auditions.
