Important End-of-Year Information

Personal Checks

May 8 was the last day Hopewell MS will accept personal checks for all school-related expenses such as lost text books, Media Center fines, Cafeteria lunch accounts.   

Lost and Found

If your child has missing items that may be in the HMS clinic closet, please remind them to check the clinic closet before the end of the day, Friday May 22. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

Medication Pick-up

Please remember to pick up all medications in the clinic by the end of the school day, Friday, May 22. All medication left in the clinic after school dismisses on May 22 will be disposed.

Media Center

All books need to be returned and fines paid by Friday, May 15.  If you have any questions, please ask in the Media Center.

Additionally, Hopewell Middle School has a selection of ebooks and digital audio books (DAB) available from MackinVia and OverDrive.  Students should use their 10 digit school code for the user name and their birthday for their password in the format ddmmyyyy.

Finally, the state of Georgia has provided free, online access to books this summer!  myON Reader has partnered with the Get Georgia Reading Campaign to provide every child in Georgia FREE access anytime, anywhere to a library of more than 8,000 enhanced digital books with multimedia supports — over the entire summer!

New Residency Verification Requirements

The district revised its School Admission Policy for Residence Verification.  Families are no longer required to complete an Affidavit of Residence for every year of student enrollment.  Proofs of residence must be provided at the following times:

  • Initial enrollment into Fulton County Schools
  • Entry into Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade
  • When there is any address change.

Rising 6th Grade Information

If you are a rising sixth grader, we have lots of information for you and your parents.  There is the Connections/World Language Decision Guide, the HMS Rising Sixth Grade Information Booklet, and the RisingMustangs.com website.  We also have the slideshow that we showed at Rising Sixth Grade Parent Night.  Check out all the resources we've created to help make your transition to Hopewell smooth and successful! 


Peru Trip

Don’t delay if you are considering educational travel to Peru for your child (or even yourself!) to Peru next summer with Sra. PTA Reflections

The theme for next year’s PTA Reflections contest will be “Let Your Imagination Fly.”  If you have free time this summer to express your creativity, you may prepare entries for literature, visual arts, photography, music composition, dance choreography, and film production.  Visit www.georgiapta.org for more information.  The Hopewell deadline for submission will be October 1, 2015.  Have a great summer and “Let Your Imagination Fly!”
