Dear Wildcat Families,
I am pleased and proud to serve as the lead learner at Northwestern Middle School. In order to insure that our students grow, we must continue to grow. Our staff continues to work hard to grow in areas that address the needs of our students. Our top priority is to insure that our students have a safe and productive place to learn and to grow. It is our goal to deliver our students back to families better than they were before they left home.
I am very excited about all of the wonderful things that we have in store for our students. We are continuing our focus on the growth and development of the whole child. Our teachers and support staff are working very hard to enhance student engagement, appropriate levels of rigor in our classrooms, and student success skills. Grades do not always capture the true growth of students, because letter and number grades eventually cap.
Some students might grow tremendously over the course of a school year and not make it to the principal's honor roll, but should still be applauded and we should recognize their growth and achievement as great accomplishments. Some students grow or need support in character and citizenship. We want to shape the whole student at NMS so that they will lead our country in a way that impacts all humanity in a positive way.
Thank you for your support and contributions to Wildcat Nation. Without you, our support system is incomplete. We truly appreciate our wonderful school community and we hope to see you soon.
