SGC Candidates Information
Paul D. West Middle School will be electing representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. We will be electing parent/guardian positions and teacher positions for our spring election. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal on the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 22nd- 28th. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by Feb 17th
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school's front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).

Principal Selection Process
The selection process for a new principal is about to begin and your input is essential. The first step is to complete the following survey which is used to determine the leadership qualities you feel are most important in the next leader.

You are welcome to visit and to utilize the
Panther Parent Resource Room and Title I Parent Liaison Office daily from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM. There you will find valuable parental resources and educational assistance for your use with your child at home in math, reading, science, language arts and technology. Also, we have two computers for your use for additional educational tools and resources. Additionally, you will find community resources, PDWMS PTSA information, and information from our partners in education. At West we're bridging the gaps between home, community and our school.
