Summer School 2014
When is summer school?
Summer School will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 – Friday, June 27, 2014. Paul D. West Middle School program operates from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Breakfast is from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Who can participate in summer school?
Paul D. West Middle School students in current grades 6, 7, and 8 who failed Math, Science, ELA, and/or Social Studies and did not meet the system's promotion requirements are eligible to attend summer school.
Where will summer school be held?
Summer school will be held at Paul D. West Middle School. Transportation to and from the summer school site will be provided for Paul D. West Middle School students. Students are expected to arrive at Paul D. West Middle between 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
What courses will be offered this summer?
Course offerings include Math, Science, ELA/ Reading, and Social Studies. All participating students are expected to pass the end-of-course assessment by scoring 70% or greater in order to receive credit for completing summer school.
When will summer school registration occur (and what are other key dates)?
Registration will be held the week of May 30, 2014 through June 9, 2014. Registration will be not permitted after June 9. Registration can be accessed by clicking the link below.
What is the cost of summer school?
Middle School students will pay $155 for each course needed ($125 for students that qualify for free and reduced meals). Payments must be made by cash, certified check, or money order by June 9, 2014. There are no tuition waivers.
