Fulton County School’s Summer Reading List

The goal of the summer reading list is to provide students with a wide variety of books to enjoy during the summer months. Students may wish to read works from other level lists as appropriate. It is our hopes that the summer reading list will encourage students to make reading an essential part of summer vacation.

Students can access books from the summer reading list via MACKINVIA and OVERDRIVE (middle and high school students only) using their FCS network ID and passcode.

Parents, Teachers & Friends,

As you know, there is a principal vacancy at Renaissance Middle School for the 2015-2016 school year. We are currently working to fill that vacancy with the best possible candidate.  Fulton County Schools began using a new and improved principal selection process in 2012.  Your school community will use this process to select the new principal.  The first step in this new process is to build a unique profile for the school.  The purpose of the school profile is to outline the unique characteristics of the school and to highlight the most important leadership skills that your future principal will need to be successful.   While the profile is being built, there will be a screening of the applications to review cover letters, resumes, and references.  First round interviews at the central office will include job simulations and a series of interview questions.  The most qualified candidates will proceed to the round two interview that will be held at your school. Candidates will be interviewed on the competencies identified as the most critical to meet the unique needs of your school.

In order to build a school profile and obtain stakeholder input, a survey has been created in both English and Spanish .  The survey is standard across the district and was developed by Fulton County Talent Division to determine the critical competencies needed of the school leadership specific to each school.  The link will be on your school's website this week and will be open until midnight on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. There will be a separate link for each language. Your input is important, so we appreciate you taking time to complete the survey.

Thanks for your support!
