Students may arrive at school by 8:05 at the earliest. Breakfast and Lunch will be served daily.

Students are required to attend class on time every day. Attendance will be taken daily. Students who miss a class or are late may be removed from their summer school class for the remainder of the session. Parents will be notified of frequent absences or tardies prior to removal from the summer school session. Please send a note to the teacher if you know your child will be absent.
Students who are enrolled in summer school are expected to abide by all Sandy Springs Charter Middle Schools behavior expectations and Fulton County expectations as outlined within the code of conduct.
Any student who has a behavior incident will be addressed individually and consequences will be appropriately assigned, up to and including a possible removal from the summer school program.
Students in need of recovering credits will be notified via mail and phone call and invited to attend summer school. Please feel free to call Shinah Russell to discuss whether your child is eligible for Summer School.
Criteria for Eligibility
- Failing 1 or both classes – ELA/Reading and Math
- Students who have failed a Math course and have scored in beginning learner on the GA Milestones Math Assessment
- Students who have failed an ELA or Reading course and have scored in the beginning learner on the GA Milestones ELA Assessment
ELA – Students who qualify for only an ELA class will be registered in a 1 hour 45 minute teacher directed session and a 1 hour 40 minute online session via Edgenuity.
Math - Students who only qualify for only a Math class will be registered in a 1 hour 45 minutes teacher directed session and a 1 hour 40 minute online session via Edgenuity.
ELA & Math – For students who need both ELA and Math they will participate in a teacher directed ELA and teacher directed Math class.
Class sizes will remain at a maximum of 20 students per grade level for both ELA and MATH. Students who were selected for Summer School were chosen based on GA Milestones results for ELA and Math and Maymester students who were failing ELA/Math in the April progress report.
