At Taylor Road MS, we believe each child has the ability to make a positive difference in the world. Principal Kelly Parker began his service at Taylor Road MS as an assistant principal in 2009; he was named principal in June 2018. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of South Dakota and his Masters of Education in English at Kennesaw State University. Mr. Parker has been with Fulton County Schools since 1999. Before coming to Fulton, Mr. Parker began his teaching career in South Dakota at Vermillion HS teaching English and coaching debate. He moved to Roosevelt HS in Sioux Falls, SD -- teaching language arts and also directing the debate program in 1995. He moved to Georgia and began the debate program at Centennial HS in Roswell. After thirteen years as a debate coach and teacher, he was named assistant principal at Chattahoochee High School. He served for three years at CHS before joining Taylor Road Middle School.
Mr. Abelkop is a proud alumnus of Taylor Road Middle School and re-joined the TRMS family as an assistant principal in 2018. Mr. Abelkop graduated from Chattahoochee High School and later received his Bachelors degree from Michigan State University and a Masters of Education in Leadership from Columbus State University. Mr. Abelkop has been an educator for over a decade and for the past seven years has worked at Chattahoochee as a teacher, debate coach, and Assistant Administrator. Mr. Abelkop is thrilled to be able to continue to work with the students in this community and hopes to inspire them to believe in themselves and in their ability to make the world a better place.
Ms. Kim has served as an educator in the Fulton County School System since 2005. She taught English Language Arts and reading at River Trail Middle School and became an assistant principal at Taylor Road MS in 2015. Ms. Kim's educational credentials include a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, a master's degree in Childhood Education, and a master's degree in Literacy Specialist Program from The State University of New York Buffalo. Ms. Kim also holds a specialist's degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Ms. Kim believes all children can learn and grow to their fullest potential. With unwavering support and strategic collaboration from all stakeholders, Ms. Kim looks forward to continuing to empower students.
Ms. Patorgis has been a part of FCS for many years and has been an assistant principal at River Trail Middle School and Roswell North Elementary School prior to coming to TRMS. She started in the classroom as a special education teacher then moved on to a position as an Instructional Support Teacher over special education. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her Master's Degree at Georgia State University. She is so excited to be a part of the Taylor Road Middle School family!
Mr. Huggins been a member of the Taylor Road Middle School family as an eighth grade history teacher since 2014. Prior to joining the staff at Taylor Road, Mr. Huggins served as an Assistant Principal in Richmond, Virginia for five years and as a middle school history teacher for 15 years. He has over 25 years of experience in education. He has a Bachelors degree in Education from Virginia Union University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to his educational experience, Mr. Huggins has mentored many youth and has served as a coach for both boys and girls basketball and track over the years. He is married and is the proud dad to twin sophomores in Fulton County Public Schools. Mr. Huggins is excited to join the administrative team and looks forward to working with all stakeholders in the Taylor Road community.
Ms. Baker has been a member of the Taylor Road family since 1996. Before arriving at TRMS, she taught in Waco, Texas, Crabapple Middle School, and Armstrong Atlantic University (Savannah). While teaching at TRMS, Ms. Baker primarily taught math and science in the TAG department. After retiring, she joined our adminstrative team part-time. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona (Tucson) and a master's degree from Emory University. Ms. Baker enjoys working with data and is excited to help our school use data effectively to improve instruction.
