HOW TO CHECK YOUR GRADES IN Home Access Center (Students)

HOW TO CHECK YOUR STUDENT'S GRADES in Home AccessCenter (Parents)

Parents – we need your support with some of our office procedures. We want to stress to our students the importance of uninterrupted instruction. Please help us with the following:

  • Student dismissals/checkouts must occur before 3:30. Please plan accordingly with appointments – understanding parking, bus and carpool traffic. We will not call students out after 3:30 time unless it is an emergency and is approved by an administrator. If you are checking out during P.E., Adventure Quest or Health you will need to allow extra time.  Your child could be outside and that could delay dismissal.
  • All check outs require a photo ID.
  • If your child is going to be checked out by another person other than you that is not on your emergency contact list, we will need a note from you, and they will be asked to show a photo ID.
  • If you have a message or item for your student (not including lunch), we will put your student's name on the board to pick it up. We will not be calling students to the office during class time, as it is disruptive to the learning environment for the students and the teachers. Any change to this expectation requires administrator approval.
  • Since students do not have their cell phones during the school day, remind your child to leave a message when they call using the school line. That way, you would not worry when you see a missed call.

Thanks for supporting TRMS!

TRMS is going back to DC!

TRMS will once again be participating in the Close Up program, a dynamic hands-on civic education program for students.  This opportunity is available to students in all grades 6th-8th.  We will be attending May 6- May 9, 2018.  The total student cost is $1,420.  Interested in attending?  Contact Ms. Greenwood at greenwoodk@fultonschools.org with any questions.

The Wonder of Reading

Taylor Road MS is excited to announce a year-long focus on character through literacy education using the novel Wonder as the common thread.

Our overall goal includes the increase of student literacy skills. Wonder is a novel that is accessible to our entire school community – all levels of readers – from an English-language learner to a talented and gifted student examining deeper connections to the human condition.

The novel is especially relevant for middle school students as they struggle with who they are and who they will become. Focusing on character attributes explored in the novel could assist our young adults as they confront adversity and micro-aggressions of word and deed.

Our themes we will explore during the year include:

  • Courage
  • Kindness-Compassion
  • Empathy
  • Integrity
  • Patience
  • Forgiveness
  • Perseverance
  • Reflection

Community members and parents will be asked to share their favorite excerpts from the book with students during the year through video-taped interviews and in-person discussions.

Check out the novel through our local libraries, or you can order your copy on your own through your favorite bookseller, or buy a copy at TRMS.

All-State Orchestra is Georgia's highest individual honor for school orchestra members. The two-audition process culminates in a performance weekend in Athens, Georgia. Out of the hundreds that audition, only a select number of students with the highest scores statewide are chosen to form the orchestra, based on their audition score by highly qualified judges.

These students will represent Taylor Road well!
