Dear High Point Family,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as your Principal. I came into this position in January 2014 with a clear understanding of how exceptional our school is and that we are successful because of your commitment to your children and their academic success.

I started my career in Fulton County at Dunwoody Springs Elementary as an ESOL and 3rd grade teacher. In 2004, I transferred to High Point, where I have served as a teacher, Curriculum Support Teacher, and Assistant Principal. Over the past sixteen years, I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by talented people who have challenged me, taught me new approaches to learning, and have always done whatever it takes to see students succeed. My goal is to continue to embrace the wonderful characteristics of High Point Elementary while encouraging innovation and audaciousness. It thrills me to be a part of this family and work closely with everyone to take our school to the next level. After all, my heart and soul is linked to this school and community.

For the duration of this school year, it is important that we continue to work together to give our children the best opportunity to become self-motivated learners and productive citizens. Parents, teachers, support staff and administration all play an important role in encouraging our children to become active learners.  Through a collegial partnership with everyone associated with High Point, I am confident that our students can continue to learn and grow as we uphold our county's mantra that students do come first!

As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any suggestions or concerns you might have.

In partnership,

Carrie Pitchford, Principal
